Patrick has been working in the behavioral health field since 1995. He received his B.S. in Psychology/Biology from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, and his M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Abilene Christian University. He worked in community mental health since 1997 and has been in a private practice since 2003.
He believes that the most effective way for people to change is from the inside out, and that when a person makes positive changes at their core spirit/heart many other desired external changes will occur more intuitively that are much longer lasting. He believes that when only external changes are sought, these changes sometimes do occur, but the results often require more focus on the specific area and are typically less permanent and less resilient to stressors. So, he usually encourages clients to focus on internal changes that will bring about the external changes they are seeking.
He is very much a generalist in the types of clients/cases he treats. Areas where he has a special interest or more experience are: men’s issues, severe mental illness (i.e., Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Schizophrenia), mood disorders, addictions, especially chemical dependency, sexual addiction, dishonesty, and marital problems.
He has been married to his bride, Tammy, since 1998 and has 4 children, ages 18, 16, 13, and 11 years. He enjoys playing guitar & mandolin, all types of music, and he enjoys learning about and visiting Israel and his Israeli friends. He also has a media & video production company called LifeScreen Visuals. He does web design, media & video production for corporate, advertising, marketing, ministry, and more.
